Though they play brother and sister in the series, having met on the show, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter married on 31st December 2008. They subsequently divorced in December 2010, but continued to work together in the show.
There is no improvisation on set. The scripts are followed verbatim, and any possible changes are discussed with James Manos Jr. first.
In the episode Go Your Own Way, Debra is babysitting Rita's kids and jokes to her that they watched two of the Saw films. Julie Benz was in Saw V.
Dexter was originally going to die in the series finale but Showtime would not allow it.
